1. america: the story of us. please tell me you're watching it too. it's a survey of 400 years of american history, so there's a lot of information to take in, but i think they're doing a great job. great sunday night family activity. also, they're offering a free dvd copy of the documentary to every school in america (public, private, home, as long as it's accredited) which is unbelievably generous. you just have to go here and request it by july 1, 2010.
2. i finally got around to watching masterpiece theatre's recent production of the diary of anne frank. which was also amazing. oh how i love masterpiece theatre.
3. bull riding on a thursday night. i must say i can't think of any better way to spend a thursday night. can you?
4. the rodeo. oh how i love the rodeo. the hats. the handlebar mustaches. the fake boobs. all things bedazzled. the sweet smell of livestock. rowdy drunk people with hick accents. sharon and i spent saturday at the clovis rodeo grounds. you should totally come with us next year.
*also, i think someone should write a musical that takes place at a rodeo. i mean, with all those rhinestones and stereotypical personalities shoved into such a compact space . . . it would practically write itself. and don't even get me started on the gloriousness that is the rodeo clown.
*also, also, can i please have a rodeo dj follow me around all day, playing little clips of music to get me pumped up and dancing?
5. white trash food. i mean. sometimes there really is nothing better than nacho's with chili and a hot dog. really. there isn't.
6. homemade chocolate chip cookies.
7. sunscreen. my favorite is the ultimate sport from neutrogena. it's not super greasy and it smells like yummy men's cologne. i especially appreciate their sport face sunblock because it does not sweat off, it is not greasy, and it doesn't make me break out. their spray on sunblock is amazing (although it is a little more greasy) for touch up's on the go. these items will be accompanying me to greece.
8. we are still getting some rainy days here in the central valley. oh how i love rainy days.

9. david and matt termeer have been over for dinner several nights this week, which is lovely because it means there will be dinner and, of course, their company is always amusing.
