on my mind

i forgot to mention . . .
my dad was called as the bishop
of our ward a few weeks back
so, we're now that family, and that house

***

they raised the tuition again
i think they should be required to publish the names
and addresses of this "board" who keep voting on these raises
i'd like to pay them a little visit

***

apparently it's supposed to be in the 100's for the next 5 days
swear words are in order
at least it's not humid, like on the east coast
my trip to seattle cannot come fast enough

***

have you been watching so you think you can dance?
i swear something happens every week that makes me want to scream
how amazing it must feel to be able to move you body
and express yourself in such a way

***

i wish so much that i could find  a local book club
that i could feel like i would fit into
i miss talking about books with people
i miss feeling challenged
the university has one
but the girl with the dragon tattoo was on the list
not exactly what i was looking for
and the local library didn't help me out either
i keep trying to form one, but i just doesn't seem to stick
sad

i know what you mean about the book club -- i had a great one for a while in houston, until things got mixed up with yearly moves and it started to change. i've been bookclubless for years now and i hate it.

i always feel weird telling newly called bishops and their families "congratulations"...there needs to be a different word...

oh girl - WHEN (notice i said when and not if) you come to virginia, don't come in the summer -- it's nearly unbearable for we anglo-saxons who detest the humid heat. fall or spring and you'll love it.

I would SO join your book club if you started one. Even if it was just you and me talking about the same book when we both finally got around to finishing it. :P

I am LOVING "The Greater Journey" by David McCullough. I am on page 335. Really interesting book, but you can put it down. (I took a different one on our Yellowstone trip. Can usually read more than one trip at a time.)
