10 things that made me happy this week . . .

1. boden released its fall line. there are several coats that i'm coveting.

2. sitting on the beach, soaking up the uv rays, and immersing myself in my book.

3. being that girl who shows up to the lake with a book. it's depressing how little people read for pleasure. it's seriously my favorite way to spend free time. if i'm being honest, i'm feeling quite smug about being a "reader." mark twain said "the man who doesn't read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them." i am determined to have the advantage!

4. i mailed off three letters to missionaries this week. and i must say, my stationary is quite lovely.

5. i made a final decision about my fall classes. i'm taking american civil war and tsarist russia. i'm really excited about the russia class. i know nothing about it.

6. coraline is on dvd (with a 3d option).

7. texts from logan. they're almost always hysterically funny.

8. this week was logan's birthday. i'm so happy he's part of our family!

9. this picture of afton. heidi was outside in the pool life-guarding. afton really wanted to join her. i can't look at it without laughing.

10. seven brides for seven brothers. i would not resist even a little bit if benjamin or frank showed up to kidnap me. i'm just saying . . . .

10 things that made me happy this week . . .

1. bbc's production of north and south. it's divine. i could watch it over and over. hmmmm, do you think i could convince bbc to produce my life. write the plot, pick the leading man . . . . i'm ready for my fade out happy ending already!

2. richard armitage. he's even dreamy when he's the bad guy killing off maid marian. *sigh* he's yummy.

3. finally figuring out my love language. it's quality time . . . if you were wondering . . .

4. i got my new reading glasses. yay! i look like a librarian. i love it.

5. i also got my new sunglasses. ray ban's 40% off wholesale. thanks mom!

6. the hole in my ceiling is finally patched up.

7. i received a letter all the way from italy! it makes me feel like an international, receiving mail with foreign stamps . . .

8. swedish fish.

9. my new gym playlist. it makes the time pass while i imagine myself dancing up a storm. i have to concentrate on not dancing while on the elliptical machine. somehow i don't think it would work out well . . .

10. heidi sent us video's of afton talking up a storm. no words . . . well, none that we understand. i'm sure it all makes sense to her.

10 things that made me happy this week . . .

1. watched wolverine with regina and maria. they hadn't seen it yet. very entertaining, their reactions. **bonus: hugh jackman**

2. gambit: "did you miss me?"

regina: "yes!"

3. we went to dinner for amy's birthday. randomly, the man at the next table walked over and sang happy birthday to her and maria. he was amazing. he went back to his table and finished his dinner. on his way out, he stopped by again and we figured out who he was. he sings the foodmax jingle on the radio. we were all in hysterics.

4. i found the most gorgeous editions of jane eyre and wuthering heights on amazon international. i ordered them. i can't wait to get them. it's been years since i read wuthering heights. every time i buy the book with the plan to re-read it, i loan it out and never see it again. this edition is definitely not ever being loaned!

5. i finally received this in the mail:

6. i joined netflix this week. i have filled my queue with several bbc productions i have yet to see. i'm so excited. i should be receiving north and south just in time for the weekend.

* on a side note: i must read a novel by elizabeth gaskell. i've thoroughly enjoyed the bbc productions of wives and daughters and cranford.

7. the addiction dance on last week's sytycd. amazing. i almost cried.

9. the roofers have finished their work on our house. there is an end to debris and dust!

10. i went to see harry potter and the half blood prince at midnight. it was fun. the movie is great. how fun it is to escape into that world for a while!

10 things that made me happy this week . . .

1. i'm re-reading "jane eyre" for our ward book club. it's been a few years since i read it last. i love it even more this time! perfection.

2. as a special treat to myself, i also watched the latest bbc production of "jane eyre," which is also perfect. i could watch it over and over. but i won't. i will exercise self control

3. john is now officially a ward of the mtc. good to have him gone (i mean that in the best way). i'm really excited for him.

4. last weeks vampire dance (on "so you think you can dance") was amazing. i think i held my breath the whole time.

5. we went to ruth's chris for dinner for johns birthday. the steaks are inconceivably good and the potatoes au gratin make my taste buds want to explode.

6. i had friday off work for the holiday. i was super lazy, watched several movies, and avoided make-up for the whole day.

7. guacamole.

8. fireworks. violent explosives (for the boys) + glitter (for the girls) = everyone's happy.

*note: wouldn't it be amazing if there really was glitter in fireworks, and it just rained down all over you?! i must make this happen!!

1. we are finally finished with the flooring/carpet installation in the house. We can walk around without worrying about exposed nails and splinters.

2. johns open house was this weekend. he's leaving in less than a week. crazy. it was great to see everyone (especially the termeers).

3. afton's drunken sailor walk.

4. swimming pools.

5. chocolate chip cookies from dug out cookies in fresno. they're amazing.

6. john and nathan rowley had their eagle court of honor this weekend. we had a bbq in the rowley's back yard. it was really low key. the presentation took about 15 minutes (no one droned on for 45 minutes about how this was going to shape the boys for the rest of their life, blah, blah, blah . . .). hands down the best eagle court of honor i've ever been to.

7. almost everything on boden's website is 50% off, which means it's affordable. i spent some money . . . .

8. today is maria's birthday which equals so you think you can dance + better than sex cake. it's going to be a good night.

9. sharon and i went and saw 17 again at the $3 theatre. my inner 14 year old girl was more than satisfied.

10. i went to bed at 10:30 last night. zzzzzzzzzzzzz . . . .
