10 things that made me happy this week . . .

1. football players "single ladies" dance routine on glee. i was literally screaming-out-loud laughing.

2. the return of criminal minds and my imaginary tv boyfriend (matthew gray gubler in the form of dr. spencer ried).

3. logan took the dat again and improved his score. congratulations to him!

4. good friends who made the trek to san diego with us to help move heidi and logan. thank you sharon and lori, your help was immeasurable! sharon . . . i'm sorry you're sick again.

5. friends who have the same sense of humor as i do . . .

6. dvr and hulu. making it possible for me to watch all the things i like, when i like. especially since idiots in tv land have decided to put three of my shows on at the same time . . .

7. "my body is like a rum chocolate souffle. if i don't warm it up right, it doesn't rise." where did they get these writers? genius!

8. testimony meeting on sunday provided several giggles, from the guy who announced he had been "saved" a few months earlier while finishing off his prison sentence to joel's upcoming activities poem. fantastic.

9. in relief society, we were asked if anyone wanted to share a time of trial in our life. one girl talked about the death of her toy poodle and the two year depression that followed in which she quit school, struggled with church . . . etc. seriously? i had to bite my lips to keep from laughing uproariously. even more amusing was when i happened to make eye contact with my friend sitting next to me and she said "don't even look at me." sweetie, if the death of a dog is going to send you into a two year funk, just stop now. don't even get out of bed. you're never going to make it through.

10. cousin mindy finally had her baby. welcome to the world emeri lou!

on my mind . . .

it's a good thing i'm only taking two classes this semester.
both of my professors expect a ridiculous amount of reading.
there's no way i'm going to pull it off.
i'm starting to feel a little bit panicked about all the reading and work i have to finish in the next few weeks, let alone the rest of the semester. . .

it is ridiculously hot in fresno.
tomorrow it is supposed to be 100 degrees.
i think it was 100 degrees yesterday and the day before.
it's the end of september for pity's sake!!
i'm done with the heat.
it's making me cranky.
someone please inform the big guy upstairs . . . apparently he's ignoring me.

this weekend we're heading down to san diego.
sounds nice, right . . .
not so much.
heidi and logan are moving out of their apartment so we're going down to pack it all up, move it all out, and clean the apartment.
all in one day.
on the bright side, it probably won't be 100 degrees in san diego.

it would seem that the members of the horrible-grammar-club have designated me as their target this month.
i haven't been correcting them, but the grace period is over.
there is no excuse. you're just being lazy.
pay attention to what you're saying.
if you sound like an imbecile i'm going to assume you are an imbecile,
and i'm not going to waste my time or attention on you.

1. thumbs up cake from glee.

2. regina and i saw a kid pooping on the side of the road on our way up to shaver lake this weekend. very amusing.

3. andy, dwight and michael's "parcour" shenanigans on the office.

4. laura's late night twitter commentary as she was watching glee had regina and i in fits.

5. regina's community service. apparently she's doing an amazing job.

6. late night walk at shaver lake on friday night. there was no moon, and no clouds so the stars were out of control. (i couldn't even find orion.) we could even see the milky way.

7. me and my girls had "fishnets and fake eyelashes" day at church on sunday. we were mostly doing it to amuse ourselves, but all of our guy friends actually noticed and commented on the look. apparently it is attention getting, in a good way . . .

8. birthday postcard from italy.

9. watched dead poet's society sunday night. i feel another poetry night coming on . . .

10. i can finally sleep on the back of my head again!

2. went to indian food at my favorite restaurant.

3. received flowers at work on friday as an early birthday present.

4. my awesome friends. i received a subscription to in style and national geographic. they know me so well.

5. re-watched willow this week. it's been years. ridiculous. fantastic. very amusing.

6. family birthday dinner (with the termeers). green chicken enchiladas. mmmmm. even better because i didn't have to make them . . .

7. every summer woodward park puts on a free shakespeare festival. i saw richard iii on thursday. it was pretty good. the fighting at the end was a bit ridiculous, but overall it was fun.

8. quick trip up the mountain on friday night was great fun. i love the smell of the mountains here.

9. my birthday wordle.

10. i changed wards today. i finally get to go to church with all my friends!

10 things that made me happy this week . . .

i've decided to change my "top ten," as they've become known around here, to sunday's. with school and work it's becoming increasingly difficult to get it done mid-week. most of the time i don't even realize i've forgotten until the next day. so this will cover the last week and a half . . .

1. my uncle johnny, who isn't really my uncle but is, in actuality, my mom's cousin, called us last weekend to let us know he was coming to town to participate in a team roping competition. he's crazy good. he's been doing rodeo his entire life. we had a great time watching him compete.

2. logan's in town for a spell. it's fun having him around.

3. mom, heidi and i went to see the time travelers wife. hooray for girl's night out.

4. after a week of craving ginger ale, and every store i went to being sold out of it, i finally procured a 12 pack of the beverage.

5. glee! i'm a gleek. are you a gleek?

6. it's a three day weekend. i am soooo looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

7. yesterday was heidi's birthday. we went ice skating. i fell and cracked my head open. i now have two staples in my head. so it wasn't that great for me, but over all we had a good time. on the bright side, we were in and out of the emergency room in two hours on a saturday night. that's gotta be some kind of record.

8. watching afton eat is astounding. it's unbelievable how much food that girl can fit in her body. it's hysterical. she shovels it in hand over fist.

9. i changed my shampoo, and my hair seems to be happy about it.

10. i was released from my calling as relief society president today. perhaps it's a little sacrilegious to be so happy about being released, but honestly, i've been counting down the days . . .
